The Red Chair Project

The Red Chair Project is an international campaign that was developed in France by Valerie Duval-Poujol and has spread across the globe. The campaign raises awareness of the women and girls killed because of domestic abuse.

The Mothers’ Union is committed to supporting healthy and flourishing relationships. One the greatest threats to individuals, families and societies around the world, is violence and abuse carried out against women and girls.  Because of their gender, women and girls are affected disproportionately.

As part of our ongoing work to end gender-based violence, the Mothers’ Union is committed to supporting those who have been affected by intimate partner violence by supporting individuals and communities, and encouraging and advocating for change at local, national and international levels.

This year, we will be providing information during the 16 Days of Activism on intimate partner violence (25 November - 10 December).

Look for the red chair in the Cathedral. A reminder that too many people are affected by intimate partner violence.
