Take your flu season from “wild” to “mild”!

A word from the Cathedral Health Ministry, as we enter the fall flu season:

Do you want to know how to take the flu season from "wild" to "mild"?

** Wash your hands frequently with soap and water or alcohol based hand sanitizer

** Stay home when you are unwell

** Mask as needed to protect yourself and those around you

** Get vaccinated

The influenza and COVID vaccines will be available around mid October. Vaccines are available from your health care providers and at pharmacies. Simply call and make your appointment. Both vaccines are free and can be given at the same time.

Also consider getting vaccinated for RSV.

RSV is a highly contagious and common respiratory virus that usually causes mild cold-like symptoms infecting the nose, throat and lungs, but children under two years and older adults, especially those with underlying health issues, are at high risk of developing more severe illness and may require hospitalization.

The government of NB is offering the RSV vaccine free to people 75+ years. Contact your health care provider.
